Jasper is the largest of the Rocky Mountain parks at 10,878 square kilometers. The original town of Jasper was founded in 1911 as a railway settlement. Today, Jasper is known for its uncrowded, small-town atmosphere and spectacular, unspoiled landscapes. The vast scenic areas around Jasper are noted for the abundance of wildlife, and an incredible array of towering peaks, shimmering lakes and roaring rivers.
